The Avian Power Line Interaction Committee (APLIC) leads the electric utility industry in protecting avian resources while enhancing reliable energy delivery. We work in partnership with utilities, resource agencies, and the public to: Provide educational resources; Identify and fund research; Develop industry best practices for managing bird/utility issues, and serve as a focal point for avian/utility interaction issues.
APLIC is made up of more than 70 members representing private, public, and government utility companies (investor owned, municipalities, public utility districts, power cooperatives, and federal marketing administrations), and energy companies in the U.S. and Canada that own and operate electrical lines and are working to address avian issues on transmission, distribution, and substation infrastructure.
APLIC has established highly valued relationships with agency partners, including the .U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA - APHIS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA). Partner Links

APLIC membership is open to electric utility companies and other energy companies (e.g., wind, solar, and gas) that own and operate electric utility lines.
As an APLIC member, your company will join a network of professionals dedicated to developing and applying practical and effective solutions to addressing avian interactions with electrical infrastructure. APLIC is comprised of members with extensive experience related to impacts, mitigation methods, and current research, and technology.. APLIC membership fees are reasonable, and are primarily used to fund guidance documents, training workshops, and research projects.
